Bouncy Piano is a piano that is bouncy! The piano has a stretchy multi-touch surface allowing fluid slides as well as discrete note presses. It presents a unique, digital warbley sound, generated from thousands of sound generators. A webcam sits below the surface recording the movements of the stretchy fabric. The webcam image is sent to a Processing sketch which analyzes the video. The sketch then interprets fabric changes sending triggers to SuperCollider. Locations on the fabric are mapped to thousands of sound generators, low sounds on the left, higher sounds on the right. Additionally, the sketch generates a visualization as an approximation of the sound generator locations.
